Price Industries, with tremendous utilization of its NAVLAP accredited sound lab, continues to roll out new and innovative acoustical products to add to its already vast Noise Control product offering. The Price Sound Lab is the most current and technologically advanced, state of the art lab in the noise control industry and is dedicated to providing reliable, repeatable, accurate sound data. This lab, was developed with flexibility in mind, and engineers and acoustical consultants are welcomed at any time for witness testing and job specific mock-ups.

As a result of extensive analysis and testing, Price recently introduced the SDVQ – a single duct terminal unit with silencer, and the FDCGQ – fan powered terminal with silencer. The AHRI rated and certified SDVQ / FDCGQ assemblies combine a design engineered terminal and silencer, each of which has been modified so that the entire assembly is tuned for optimized attenuation. The result is the industry’s first strategically designed, fully tested and certified integrated Single Duct Terminal Silencer unit and Quiet Fan Powered Terminal Silencer unit. As a follow up to this introduction, Price has now developed both hospital grade and elbow silencer configurations for the SDVG terminals. These assemblies will be factory preassembled to reduce field labor costs.

These terminal units, as well as all Price attenuators may be easily selected using the All-In-One selection program. The software program is intuitive and accurate, eliminating the need and delay associated with factory generated selections. The selection software utilizes a sophisticated Silencer Ranking Engine with flexibility to allow the user the ability to select the criteria most important to them – whether it be cost, pressure drop, third octave band, etc.

Price also offers complete Lay-In Service for engineers. Price analyzes each individual duct run in the mechanical system in conjunction with the building’s parameters and space characteristics. This process allows us to develop detailed acoustic reports for any application, and these reports become the basis of Price’s resultant recommended noise control solutions. Price will provide:

  • Complete drawings with specified attenuators and placement within the system
  • A mechanical equipment schedule
  • Recommended project specifications
  • Sound analysis, complete with Noise Control levels in occupied spaces
  • Energy consumption analysis

Today’s clients also demand unique solutions to suit imaginative engineering and architectural designs. Over the years, Price has perfected the process of doing specials in a reliable and quick manner – often times adding only one or two weeks to standard delivery cycles. Currently, approximately 40% of the Winnipeg plant orders are custom in some fashion or another.

Price has also developed very strong capabilities with respect to larger scale industrial applications, including custom industrial noise control solutions for a variety of applications. Constructed of heavier gauges of materials from carbon steel to stainless steel and designed to solve your unique noise control challenges, our design and installation experience includes:

  • A complete line of industrial fan silencers
  • Acoustical Enclosure systems
  • Stack silencers
  • Turbine by-pass and exhaust silencers
  • Turbine inlet silencers
  • Tuned dissipative absorbers

Price has also partnered with the developers at Studio Six Digital to develop a tool for portable sound measurement. The Price Audio Tool works directly with an Apple iTouch interface coupled with the iAudioTools microphone system.
